Mr Kotukov has worked as a banking lawyer for over a decade. For a number of years he held a position of deputy chairman of the management board/ general counsel at commercial banks. He has an extensive experience in banking law, banking products and financial instruments, as well as a proven track record in debt enforcement and foreclosure.
Vassiliy has provided legal support to a number of major projects relating to restructuring of holding companies and acquisition of equity interests. He is also experienced in corporate and employment matters, as well as in the area of land and construction regulation. He took a lead role in a number of significant corporate due diligence projects.

- Coordination of outside consultants and representation of shareholders of a Kazakhstani bank in a transaction for sale of a 100% shareholding in the bank to a major Russian bank
- Acting for a shareholder of a Kazakhstani bank in a transaction for sale of a 100% shareholding in the bank to a major Kazakhstani businessman
- Legal advice to a private rail carrier in connection with a transaction for raising debt from a Kazakhstan-China investment fund and subsequent financing from EBRD
- Supervision over a team of lawyers in obtaining a permission to open a bank, banking license, issue and allocation of shares for a newly organized Kazakhstani bank
- Acting for investors in entering into complex transactions for investment into construction of large real estate objects, including preparation of security documents, sale and purchase agreements and all related documents
